Social Access Workgroup


Workgroup Goals:
to develop, implement and enforce public policy, laws, and regulations aimed at reducing the social availability of alcohol to minors.

Workgroup Objectives are to:

  • Increase legal and financial liability of social hosts and other adults who illegally provide alcohol to youth (e.g. cost recovery and liability legislation).
  • Increase consistent, high-visibility enforcement operations and adjudication of underage drinking laws related to social access.
  • Increase family and public awareness of and support for reducing youth access to alcohol through social sources.
  • Evaluate process and outcomes of San Diego County Social Access Campaign.
  • Advocate for state legislation addressing social hosts, fake IDs, and adult provider liability.
  • Continue to convene, monitor and support the Social Access Workgroup to achieve UDI Work Plan goals and objectives.
